THE SUPREME Court has asked conservationist Charles Correa to examine the terms of references given by contesting parties in the Sirifort Sports Complex case and requested him to work out the modalities for the upcoming squash and badminton complexes for the Commonwealth Games.

Correa would, however, have tough time as three separate terms of references have been sent to him. While advocate Harish Salve, who is assisting the special forest bench, has sought for a complete investigation into the project, DDA counsel has objected to letting Correa investigate the possibility of fixing another venue for the complex.

Correa would, however, have tough time as three separate terms of references have been sent to him. While advocate Harish Salve, who is assisting the special forest bench, has sought for a complete investigation into the project, DDA counsel has objected to letting Correa investigate the possibility of fixing another venue for the complex.

It doesn't want the former DUAC chairman to explore whether the structure of portion of it can be demolished. DDA wants Correa to simply suggest an access point to the venue by the VVIPs and players during the games.

However, the Sirifort RWA that has moved SC, has requested Correa to conduct a thorough investigation and come out with a detailed report on why DDA selected the site.

RWA's advocate M L Lahoty said: "We want Correa to find out how to stop future commercial use of this stadium and also suggest how to restore 21 acre of greenery that was demolished even as DDA required just six acre of land for the stadium."
