LETS BECOME REALLY ECOFRIENDLY WITH GREEN BUILDINGS
Inspite of posing threat to our natural resources it is not just fashionable but very essential to become ecofriendly. Every one from individual, developers as well as institutional sector to corporates are trying to adopt a tag of going green with their projects. A building at Jaipur was awarded best-learning building award of the year at world architecture festival awards (WAF) 2009 at the Centre Conventions International Barcelona, from among 611 projects from all over the world. This was the Jaipur campus of Pearl Academy of Fashion, a building designed in a way that helps in controlling the temperature of internal spaces, i.e.the temperature remains at 28 degrees celsius inside the building even though it is a scorching 46 degrees celsius outside. The main focus was to provide submissive cooling strategies such as open courtyards, water bodies and a stepwell in the academy where the students can overcome the inclement hot weather. Passive environment strategies were used in the academy to decrease power consumption , be it running of air conditioners and lighting.
COUNCIL OF ARCHITECTURE TO CONDUCT NATA FOR B.ARCH ADMISSIONS.
The Council of Architecture (COA), through its academic unit - National Institute of Advanced Studies in Architecture (NIASA) at Pune, is conducting a National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) for admission to first year of 5-year Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) degree course for various COA approved architectural institutions in the country, for the academic session 2009-2010.
