DELHI METRO PLANNING TO TOUCH GREATER NOIDA SOON

Delhi metro created history on 12 November 2009, when its Noida line started functioning. Honorable Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati flagged off the first metro train from Noida Citi Center. The metro was open to the public from the very next day.After some days the operations on the metro route bacame raliable and properly functional.It took around period of around 3 years and 3 months for construction which had started on August 1, 2006.The important feature of noida metrois this is completely elevated and is integrated with the existing 34.3 km Yamuna Bank-Dwarka Sector-9 segment, extending the total length of Line-3 to 47.4 km. LOGICAL & SYSTEMATIC NUMBERING OF NATIONAL HIGHWAYS IN INDIA

Ministry of Shipping road Transport & Highways asked for the consultants for logical numbering of national highways in India and the work is going on for finalisation of the same. After submission of the final report by the consultant the government will soon be changing the numbers of all national highways. The present numbering is haphazard, illogical and cluttered according to Mr Kamal Nath, minister for roads, transport and highways it is to be numbered comprehensively. Our highways are erratically numbered , 1 is somewhere, 3 is somewhere else. We are changing that to ensure a clear system of numbering, so everyone knows what goes from east to west, or north to south, Mr Nath said, during his road show in the UK to attract overseas investments for the governments targets of attracting $10 billion in infrastructure over two years Of this, about $3-4 billion is expected in equity, while for the rest the government is looking at creating new debt instruments like infrastructure bonds and securitization of receivables , accessing the capital market, and other such measures, added Ms Chanda Kochar, chief executive of ICICI, who is also on the road show....

The Development has been a great decisive factor in eloctoral process and has given upper edge to the congress led UPA. As per the committment made in agenda Government is making further effort to accelerate growth in urban infrastructure, the government is contemplating to launch a new version of its infrastructural initiative, the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM), with an allocation of Rs 1,00,000 crore, twice the amount meant for JNNURM phase-I. The idea is to support the urban life with the minimum basic infrastructure and have proper data base of the same. The government is planning to take cities with a population of five lakh and JNNURM-II may run over for the period of seven years....

The Metro has been a big hit mode of travel in the Delhi amid chaotic traffic movement pattern. The Metro is able to ease the traffic pressure on some of the routes but probably not able to attract high class which travel by own private vehicles.The Delhi Metro mission should also be to provide feeling of pride while boarding on Metro, it should be treated and felt as world class mode of travel. The Metro needs to do brand building among that class of the citizens which have own multiple vehicles and feel like travelling of their own, leading to congestion. It is not a question of affordability of traveling, It is just creating class of feeling travelling by Metro....
